Ashley Clarke – Curator at the Criterion Collection

Ashley Clarke is a curator at the Criterion Collection. He was previously the director of film programming at Brooklyn Academy of Music, and has curated film seasons at BFI Southbank, TIFF Bell Lightbox and other venues. He is also a writer and broadcast journalist, and has moderated panels and Q&As at NYU, the Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn College and Rider University. He is the author of Facing Blackness: Media and Minstrelsy in Spike Lee’s Bamboozled (The Critical Press, 2015), for which he also wrote the tie-in series Behind the Mask: Bamboozled in Focus at BAM (Oct/Nov 2015). He has contributed writing to publications including The New York Times, Vulture, 4Columns, and Sight & Sound, and hosts the podcast Millennials on Film.
